Kerri utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strength Based Approach with her clients. Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking and its effects on how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. This type of therapy assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments.
Kerri believes that every person is resilient and has the capacity to heal and live a full life. Kerri has experience in working with individuals and groups in a variety of areas. Some of those areas include: trauma, addiction, and behavior issues.
